He had a unique approach to addressing issues of culture, identity and philosophy in his work. For Hon, to be a Hong Kong artist was to remain porous and question boundaries between cultures, mediums, and within the self.\u003cbr\u003eThe painting “Flower rain” is an iconic representation of Hon Chi-fun’s abstract style. Filled with rich and vibrant colours, circles and squares are used to symbolize the self, while imitating the wonders of nature.
