For the 3rd consecutive year, Sparkle collaborates with VTC’s HK Design Institute to organize the “Next In Cheongsam – Young Designer Challenge” (NICS), encouraging young designers to blend east-meets-west and Chinese chic elements with cheongsam heritage by creating youthful and individualistic futuristic street fashion that mixes iconic Hong Kong red-white-blue and traditional Chinese Lucky Coin cotton fabric with denim, inspired by cheongsam and Tang jackets.

For the 2nd year, Sparkle collaborates with VTC’s HK Design Institute to organize the “Next In Cheongsam – Young Designer Challenge” (NICS), inviting final-year students and graduates of HKDI’s Fashion and Image Design course to create futuristic cheongsams by blending traditional cheongsam and Tang jacket elements with contemporary Chinese style and denim, under the theme “Next in Cheongsam – Denim”, while paying homage to Hong Kong’s legendary denim industry and incorporating East-meets-West design.

SPARKLE x VTC’s HK Design Institute organized “Next In Cheongsam – Young Designer Challenge” fashion design competition to promote the Intangible Cultural Heritage of cheongsam, and entice young fashion designers to incorporate East-meets-West design and Chinese chic elements into the art of making cheongsams.
