This pattern depicts details from HKMoA’s priceless ink-wash art painting “Dwellings Perch Where The White Clouds Hover Still” by world-revered Chinese master artist Wan Qingli.
 .
Wan Qingli’s artwork using traditional brush and ink techniques are imbued with themes that exude modernity and contemporary life's allure, his creations reflect his deep engagement with traditional studies while simultaneously embodying a fascination with modern-day existence.
 .
The painting “Dwellings Perch Where The White Clouds Hover Still” depicts a majestic mountain scenery using the layered ink technique. The layering and stippling of vermilion pigments and ink resulted in a rich and vivid autumn landscape. While it resembles Li Keran’s landscape paintings, Wan breaks from the solemnity and the sublime atmosphere typical of Li’s school. The figures in the front are portrayed in a playful manner, adding a human touch to the grand and magnificent landscape.
