DOUBLE HAPPINESS
This SPARKLE by KAREN CHAN x HKMoA original pattern is inspired by the Famille-Rose Porcelain Double Bottle Imperial Poetry Floral Motif (瓷粉彩開光雙壺御提詩花卉圖) snuff bottle in HKMoA’s priceless “Fuyun Xuan Collection” of snuff bottles. This Qing Dynasty snuff bottle’s harmonious double bottle design symbolizes perfect union (和合並美), while its vibrant peonies symbolize prosperity, and plum blossoms symbolize resilience. Emperor Qianlong's personally inscribed poetry adds artistry and prestige to this already priceless gem.
.
This SPARKLE by KAREN CHAN x HKMoA fabric design reinterprets this legacy through layered shades of violet and crimson, building a dreamlike composition where the snuff bottle's contours gradually transform into a heart-shaped silhouette; each delicate brushstroke pays homage to the original porcelain craftsmanship while weaving a contemporary narrative of love and admiration.
