PEACH OF IMMORTALITY
This SPARKLE by KAREN CHAN x HKMoA original pattern is inspired by the “Famille-Rose Overlay Glass 'Peach of Immortality' Snuff Bottle”(灑紅地套綠玻璃蟠桃型) from the HKMoA’s "Fuyun Xuan Collection".
.
This bold graphic pattern reimagines the 19th-century overlay glass peach snuff bottle from HKMoA's collection, transforming its symbolic "Peach of Immortality" motif into a feminine and vibrant contemporary design. The pattern balances folkloric charm with graphic punch – where Qing dynasty symbolism meets modern repeat-pattern versatility.

In the palace gardens of Xi Wangmu (西王母) “The Royal Lady of the West”, there grew a peach tree of the gods. It was said to blossom once every three thousand years to bear the legendary fairy peach. For those who would have the good fortune to eat the fruit, immortality would be attained. The star God of Longevity, Shoulao (壽老) is always associated with the peach.
