Merit Prize - LOOK 6 by LOH WING YAN

This design refers to the mini skirt of Western operas in the 1960s. It can be seen that this design is more loose and not close to the body than cheongsam, creating an H-shaped contemporary miniskirt. In addition, the collar of cheongsam and some oriental elements are used to create a Chinese and Western integration. In the design of the skirt, it can be seen that the short skirt is relatively retracted when it is still, and when it is depressed, such as the skirt folds under the dancing skirt, so it shows a more flexible dance posture and beautiful outlines.

In addition, the skirt on the left side refers to the flamenco dress of Mexico, which creates enthusiasm for dance and increases the sense of hierarchy. At the same time, in order to express the liberation of contemporary people after the war, appropriate skin exposure should be made to increase the sense of freshness. In addition, the short skirt also creates a naughty girlish feeling of a short cheongsam.

The pattern in the whole design is mainly based on contemporary art pop art, and the colour adopts Hong Kong's red, white and blue plastic bags as the main colours. In addition, Chinese elements are used as the theme in terms of colour matching, such as triangular handbags and conical hats. In addition to creating a Chinese feeling, it also shows the culture of Western geometric figures in the 1960s.
