HK Museum of History’s “Prosperity and Magnificence – Civilisation of the Sui and Tang Dynasties in Shaanxi Province” Exhibition
.
Step into the Hong Kong Museum of History, and you will find yourself transported to Chang'an — the glittering cosmopolitan capital of the Tang dynasty and, for much of the ancient world, the very centre of civilisation.
.
This exhibition brings together over 165 sets of priceless artefacts from Shaanxi and Hong Kong, including 18 sets of grade-one national treasures.
.
The exhibition highlights the dazzling brilliance of the Tang Dynasty, with its exquisite Tang sancai ceramic horses to the intricate gold and silverware of the Famen Temple.
.
More than just a display of relics, "Prosperity and Magnificence" is a powerful meditation on cultural exchange. It draws a fascinating parallel between ancient Chang'an, a beacon of openness and inclusion, and modern Hong Kong, our own East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange today. It is a captivating journey through a golden age, offering a profound and accessible look at the historical roots of China's cultural confidence and its enduring dialogue with the world.

Drawing inspiration from HK Museum of History’s “Prosperity and Magnificence – Civilisation of the Sui and Tang Dynasties in Shaanxi Province” Exhibition, the brand reinterprets the splendor of the High Tang—its grand openness, its daring spirit of innovation, its unshakable optimism and confidence—into colorful, bold and playful modern Chinese fashion that bridges the grand history of China with the brand’s avant-garde fashion philosophy.
.
Drawing from a wealth of treasured artefacts in the exhibition—the Six Steeds of Zhao Mausoleum, the Painted Female Figurine of a Dancer with a Double Looped Bun, the Silver-Gilt Incense Caddy with Scenes Showing Human Figures, the Silver Incense Burner with Curled Lotus Leaf Foot, the Kaiyuan Tongbao, Tang sancai, and the famous sancai horses, the brand transforms the unique rhythm and cadence of the High Tang into a series of contemporary fashion motifs. The result is a creative reimagining of cultural flow—a journey that begins in Chang'an, traverses a thousand years, and arrives in the present moment.
